What self-respecting website wouldn't sport a page of links?
There are countless sites devoted to the topic of Zappa and his music, and they are easy to find. We have included a link to what may be the best link-site to other FZ sites but otherwise, our goal here is to provide links to places you may not be aware of, or may never stumble upon. |

Those with whom we've had the pleasure to work: Iratowns - A terrific band from Alabama. Violinist, Dan Campbell has joined Bogus Pomp on numerous occasions and Bogus Pomp guitarist, Jerry Outlaw, joins them when they are in town. Iratowns tours constantly so if you hear of them in your area, definately see them. The Persuasions - What can you say? Forty years and they "still aint got no band". Perhaps the best a cappella group you've ever heard, their recent CD, Frankly A Cappella, is a loving tribute to Zappa, who signed them to their first record deal in 1970. In August, 2000, The Persuasions joined Bogus Pomp for a concert we will never forget. Ed Palermo and his Big Band - This New York City big band has been together since 1980 and for years has performed arrangements of Zappa's compositions. In 1999, Ed joined Bogus Pomp onstage for some memorable soloing during the first concert with the Florida Orchestra. The Florida Orchestra - An immensely talented symphony orchestra from the Tampa Bay, FL area. The Florida Orchestra and Bogus Pomp have twice collaborated to bring concerts of Zappa's orchestral and electric band works to the same stage. To see them is an inspiring experience. The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra - A tremendous orchestra from Buffalo, NY, with a rich history. The BPO and Bogus Pomp presented a concert of Zappa's music in spring of 2000. We can't say enough to their style and grace and the wonderful hospitality they showed us. Bravo. Project Object is a great band from NJ that plays Frank's music and is on tour frequently. They are a smokin' band that features Ike Willis on vocals and guitar. Napoleon Murphy Brock and Don Preston also tour with Project Object when their schedules allow. These guys are serious road dogs and they are probably coming to your town soon so, go see 'em!!!! Other links to interesting places: Friendly Little Finger - This is one of the best links sites to all things Zappa. Community Radio 88.5 WMNF - This is an eclectic Tampa radio station with a great format. You'll hear almost anything you could imagine from Klesmer to Industrial, Polka to Experimental, and yes, even Frank. Their website allows you to listen to the station, in streaming audio from anywhere on the internet. This is a jewel. The Omnibus Wind Ensemble - An amazing group from Sweden, their album "Music By Frank Zappa", is breathtaking and one must certainly obtain it. The Salvador Dali Museum - St Petersburg, FL, our home, is also home to the Dali Museum. Here is a priceless collection of some of the finest Surrealism the human brain has ever absorbed. Many memorable avant garde music performances have been held there as part of EMIT, a local concert series managed by composer and Bogus Pomp trombonist, David Manson. Professional Dynamic Image - This is photographer William Howell's place. Bill is responsible for many of the photos on this site and has worked often with Bogus Pomp. It's not easy to find a photographer who can work in concert-lighting conditions and Bill does a great job of it. ...More as we think of them. | |
